English-Chinese Translation 1 - CHN252
The unit comprises study of linguistic and cross-cultural aspects of achieving equivalence in translation from English to Chinese, plus translation practice involving translation from English into Chinese of selected texts illustrating equivalence problems. The focus in English text analysis tutorials is on working between written English and written Chinese. This unit is available for Chinese background speakers only.
