Chinese-English-Chinese Interpreting I (Paraprofessional level) - CHN386
This unit is an introductory unit for Chinese-English interpreting. Students who can speak both Chinese and English will understand that interpreting requires more than just fluency in both languages. Students will learn the main interpreting theories and skills and how interpreters work in different scenarios. Students will become familiar with community and conference interpreting practice and conduct short Chinese-English dialogue interpreting. Students will also develop general inter-lingual communication skills.
