Chinese-English-Chinese Interpreting II (Paraprofessional level) - CHN388
This unit builds on previous studies to provide students with further Chinese-English interpreting skills. Students will learn interpreting techniques such as text analysis and note-taking. Core communication skills such as emotional control and non-judgemental listening will also be introduced. Students will learn to apply and align these skills to the AUSIT (Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators) Code of Ethics, and will also learn social and cultural awareness in interpreting practice. At the successful completion of this unit, students will be able to demonstrate paraprofessional-level interpreting skills.
